Business Media
The business media market is dominated by business magazines, newspapers, journals, directories and other print on paper products, but the ways in which information is delivered are changing.
Over the last 10 years we have seen growth in the industry - now worth £23bn, with press making up a massive £8.9bn per annum. (2006)
- There were 4,917 business media magazines published in the UK in 2007, by some 700 companies.
- Business media magazines and journals generate more than £8.9bn in revenue.
- Eighty seven per cent of decision makers use business and professional media publications regularly for work purposes, more than any other medium.
- Seventy one per cent of them see them as essential reading.
- New media products and services account for over £1bn.
- In 2007, display advertising accounted for 61.5 per cent of advertising in business media magazines, while the remaining 38.5 per cent comes from classified advertising.
- Advertising expenditure has slowly declined, totalling £968m in 2007, compared to £1.3bn in the year 2000.
